Banner Design Guidelines
Follow the instructions below to learn the preferred way to set-up your banner artwork files for printing.

File Preparation & Supported File and Software Formats

Accepted Software Icons

Ensure that any photos within the artwork are a minimum of 300dpi, and all
drawings or logos are vector type files (esp. file types)

We can work with virtually any file format and software program, but we do prefer working with vector-based files if possible.  Vector art is a type of digital art using points, lines, and curves to represent images, instead of a collection of pixels or dots. Vector based means the artwork is defined by mathematical formula "resolution-independent" this allows the image to be blown up proportionally without looking blurred.

Our preference is High Resolution PDF files with all text converted to outlines.

We also accept the following formats:
Adobe In Design
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Macromedia Freehand
Jpeg and Tiffs

Important notes about your Banner design
All text should be at least 2" (50mm) from the edges of the banner to allow for eyelets

Happy Birthday Banner Image
See example above.

Images copied from the web will not work
Any pictures found on the web are low resolution and not suitable for print quality.
A picture that is low-resolution cannot be made into a high resolution photo.

Low Resolution vs High Resolution
If you send us this type of image the output will be jagged and blocky like example above.
We need high resolution photos for sharp reproduction in your banners.

The more pixels a picture has, the larger its file size will be, we need a minimum of 300dpi (dots per inch).

Vector type files are best

Vector art is a type of digital art using points, lines, and curves to represent images, instead of a collection of pixels or dots.

Vector based means the artwork is defined by mathematical formula “resolution-independent”.
This allows the image to be blown up proportionally without looking blurred.

Example Vector file type files include .EPS .Ai and PDF's

If you don't have your logos professionally created as vector files we can draw them for you.

Save colours as CMYK
CMYK Image

We prefer working with files that are setup in CMYK, but we can work with RGB formats as well. Pantone colours cannot be accurately matched using CMYK, but every effort will be made to closely match any specified pantone colour that you may require

File size and Resolution
Files may be set at 50% or 25% size, you should indicate at what proportion your artwork is set when you send it. Therefore, the minimum resolution at any scale needs to be at least 300 dpi.

Fonts
Please convert fonts to paths whenever possible. Otherwise, please include all printer and screen fonts in the file. In the case of TIFF or JPEG files, fonts will not be required.
